2025-2026 Jenkins Manuel Family Foundation Scholarship

The Jenkins Manuel Family Foundation Inc. offers financial support to eligible students attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in North Carolina to assist in funding their future. There will be $1,500 – $2,000 scholarships offered to those seeking a degree during the 2025/2026 school year.

Criteria and Eligibility
1. Applicant must be entering their freshman or senior year at an accredited HBCU in North Carolina.
2. Demonstrate financial need
3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
4. Submit the application below and required supporting documents no later than August 15, 2025 for consideration.

1. A 500-750 word essay
a. For incoming freshman: Explain why you chose to attend an HBCU and reflect how you plan to contribute to the HBCU community both inside and outside the classroom.
b. For rising seniors: How has your time at an HBCU shaped your career goals and aspirations and contributed to your personal development? Provide specific examples and reflections that highlight the unique advantages of your HBCU experience.
2. A list of school activities (student-government, sports, clubs, student-faculty committees, arts, music, etc.) In descending order of personal significance, list the activity, your role, approximate dates of participation, and time commitment.
3. A list of community-wide activities. Do not repeat items listed previously. In descending order of personal significance, list the activity, your role, approximate dates of participation, and time commitment.
4. Most recent school transcript.
5. FAFSA Summary Report.
6. If incoming freshman, acceptance letter from North Carolina HBCU attending in the 2025-2026 academic year.
